Day 15: We’ve Got Countable, How ’bout You?

Day 15 Action:

Their motto is “Your government made simple.”  Doesn’t that sound NICE? It’s not crazy, or complicated, or totally beyond our control… no my friends, not with Countable. Here is a world where you can stay on top of all the current issues (they literally list every topic) and you can vote on upcoming legislation. When you sign in you give them your address, but it’s only used in the case of the lawmakers asking for proof of constituents’ addresses – so your vote will go to your representative, double-plus good!

There’s also a handy list of organizations you can collect to follow and stay on top of what they are up to. Like the NRA. They’re currently trying to remove the BAN on GUNS in SCHOOL zones…let’s stay on top of that shit, yes?

So the stakes are high! But with Countable, you can keep it all together and follow along. Well that and your handy dandy Congress.gov account you created last week.

They really do make an overwhelming process easy. With Countable you can
(from their site):

  • Read clear and succinct summaries of upcoming and active legislation.
  • Directly tell your lawmakers how to vote on those bills by clicking “Yea” or “Nay”.
  • Follow up on how your elected officials voted on bills, so you can hold them accountable in the next election cycle.

Action and Organization

countable-thumbVISIT Countable and create and account via email or through Facebook.

TEXT yourself (as soon as you hit the site) to receive a link to download the app or find it via your iTunes or GooglePlay store.

VOTE often and stay on top of the issues that matter most to you! Remember the lawmakers work for you. You’re a person yes? Part of The People? Well then; Citizen WIN. Stay informed and use your very powerful and free voice to tell them what you want this country to be.

SHARE with friends. Because it’s nice to share, and we are nice people, yes? Also, maybe share with your friends on Facebook who voted for these people because it would be nice for them to take some accountability for allll of this too… ehem.
