Day 37: Sweet and Simple Saturdays- Petitions and a Movie

Day 37 Action:

Add your name to these very meaningful petitions and help save the world (cape optional). Then get a chance to watch a PBS film on the life and activism of Congressman John Lewis and spend the rest of the day being all “Yes they did, and so do I!” (#Resist)

Not bad for a Saturday.

Actions and Organizations:

SIGN the petition on Credomobile.com to send support to Congress for H.R. 669, Restricting First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act of 2017 which was introduced by Ted Lieu (D-CA-33) on 1/24/17, which states:

This bill prohibits the President from using the Armed Forces to conduct a first-use nuclear strike unless such strike is conducted pursuant to a congressional declaration of war expressly authorizing such strike.

SIGN Colorofchange.org’s petition to the CEO’s on Trump’s Business Council to urge them to #QuitTheCouncil. (CEO’s include, but not limited to: Disney, Pepsi, and Tesla)

WATCH John Lewis- Get in the Way from PBS: “Follow the journey of civil rights hero, congressman and human rights champion John Lewis. At the Selma March, Lewis came face-to-face with club-wielding troopers and exemplified non-violence. Now 76, he is considered the conscience of Congress.” Available through 3/10/17.

While you’re visiting The Public Broadcasting System- think about kicking a few bucks their way too.
